About Meals of Hope, Inc.

Meals of Hope was never intended to be a franchise. In fact, Meals of Hope was founded as a nonprofit in 2007 with the simple mission of sending food to Haiti, one of the most impoverished countries on our planet. However, as founder Steve Popper learned more about hunger and food insecurity, it became apparent that while there was great need off-shore, there was also need right here in the U.S.  Further, ALL meal packing companies that existed at the time were focused on sending the food offshore.  So Steve pivoted to developing recipes for nutritious meals that appealed to the American palate.  When distribution became a bottleneck, Popper opened his own food pantries to get the meals packed into the hands of the needy.  It is this exposure to the food pantry space that prompted the focus on Franchising.
