Franchise History

The original Mr. Whippy Ice-Cream van company was founded in Birmingham, England by Dominic Facchino.

1962 10 Mr. Whippy trucks arrived at Botany Bay, Sydney with the distinct Greensleeves melody associated with the brand.

1964 The Mr. Whippy company extended its operations to New Zealand.

2000 Franchised Food Company bought the business. At this time, there were 30 retail outlets on Australia’s east coast.

2019 Dib Group purchased the company officially introducing Mr. Whippy Thick shakes and Slush.
