Wednesday, May 30, 2007

Menomonee Falls, WI - Cousins Subs Systems, Inc. recently announced the signing of area developers Jim Railing in Indiana, Kate Krutz in Arizona, and Don Morello in Wisconsin.

Don Morello, Cousins Subs area developer and store owner of nearly 15 years, renewed his 10-year/20-store commitment with the sub chain to open 10 additional stores by 2018.

Although the agreement is for one store per year over the next 10 years, Morello hopes to have 30 stores opened in the next five years. His territory will span seven counties in south central Wisconsin including the state capital, Madison.

"I have developed more than 20 stores in Wisconsin with Cousins Subs, and I don't plan to stop any time soon," said Morello. "Cousins Subs offers many ways to get into store ownership and development from entry-level ownership to the most experienced franchisee."

In addition, Kate Krutz, will be expanding the 158-store sub chain in the Phoenix area. In 2005, Kate joined Cousins Subs as a store owner. Prior to joining the sub chain, she worked with McDonald's for 28 years on both the franchise and corporate side of the worldwide fast-food organization.

"I have been working in the restaurant business for nearly 30 years, and I have been very impressed with the Cousins Subs franchise program," said Krutz. "The Cousins Subs corporate team and the timing were perfect for me to join and bring the brand to the next level."

Area developer Jim Railing also announced plans to expand the Cousins Sub brand in central and southern Indiana. An attorney by trade with his own law firm in southern Indiana, Railing made a career change approximately five years ago and founded a firm, Monument Financial Capital, LLC, which is engaged in providing franchise and investment banking services on behalf of experienced, multi-unit franchise owners primarily in the restaurant sector.

As a result of assisting many franchisees throughout the country, Railing became acquainted with Cousins Subs. He was so impressed with the company and its product, he decided to join Cousin Subs' expansion effort in Indiana.

"Three new area developers in three states is a testament of the strength of the Cousins Subs brand and our commitment to an aggressive franchise development plan," said John Campbell, vice president of global development and chief development officer for Cousins Subs.

Recently, Cousins Subs has experienced 10 consecutive quarters of positive revenue growth, a remodel of their overall store design, as well as six store openings in the first quarter of this year.

About Cousins Subs

Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
