Cousins Subs To Make A Tv Star Out Of Wisconsin Resident

October 05, 2007 // Franchising.com // Menomonee Falls, WI – Cousins Subs held a one-of-a-kind sweepstakes this past June to commemorate their 35th anniversary. The sweepstakes gave entrants the opportunity to win a cameo in a television commercial with celebrity sports personality and Cousins Subs spokesperson, Dan Patrick. The grand prize winner, who was recently chosen and notified, is Dave Stanley of Sussex, a town about twenty miles west of Milwaukee, Wis.

"We wanted a way to give back to our customers and thank them for thirty-five years of support," said Cousins Subs Vice President of Marketing Larry Weissman. "We felt giving away a walk-on role in one of our TV commercial spots with Dan Patrick would be a fun way to do that. Dave is thrilled and can't wait to meet him."

As part of the prize package, Stanley and a guest will receive a package to Chicago where the commercial will be taped, including two night hotel accommodations, and $500 spending money.

"I'm finally discovered!" said Stanley. "This will be fun, I'm a big fan of both Cousins and Dan. I better get on the treadmill since I hear TV adds ten pounds." Stanley's wife, Jean, and two sons are very excited for him and all are looking forward to the commercial shoot which is planned for early 2008.

The nationwide sweepstakes ran throughout the month of June, the same month Cousins officially opened their doors in Milwaukee thirty-five years ago.
About Cousins Subs

Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
