CENTURY 21 Canadian Conference an Outstanding Success in Winnipeg

October 15, 2007 // Franchising.com // - Vancouver, BC – The CENTURY 21 Canadian Conference concluded with thunderous applause ending another hugely successful event for CENTURY 21 Canada. Over 600 delegates participated in the September 7th – 9th weekend conference in Winnipeg featuring industry renowned speakers, lively local entertainment, an exceptionally elegant awards evening gala, and much more.

The Sales Associate of the Year and Franchisee of the Year for 2006 were each announced in keeping with the CENTURY 21 tradition of recognizing truly outstanding System members. Winners of these prestigious awards must satisfy the requirements of nearly 20 qualifying categories including number of peer nominations, participation in CENTURY 21 programs and level of involvement in Easter Seals or other community service organizations.

The winner of the 2006 Sales Associate of the Year is Marilyn Kane of CENTURY 21 Colonial Realty Inc. in Charlottetown, PE.

Kane achieved the 10-Year CENTURION® Producer status in 2005, one of the highest honors awarded by CENTURY 21 Canada and CENTURY 21 International. Kane was also recently inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame and is a consistent top producer for CENTURY 21 Colonial Realty Inc. Kane has been with CENTURY 21 for over 20 years and has received numerous nominations from brokers of other CENTURY 21 offices.

Kane, who describes this award as the highlight of her career, says "I was totally surprised and humbled to be awarded Sales Associate of the Year by my friends and associates of our great CENTURY 21 organization. This award was not achieved in isolation. I wish to sincerely thank Joel Ives, John Ives, Allyson Kane, my fellow realtors and the support staff of CENTURY 21 Colonial Realty Inc. in Charlottetown. And also my husband and family for their love and support. What a great honour!"

Taking home the 2006 Franchisee of the Year award was Bill Miller, Broker of Record of CENTURY 21

Miller Real Estate Ltd. in Oakville, ON. This office has earned CENTURION® Office status 15 times since 1986 and in 2005 was awarded a Grand CENTURION office status. Keeping conference goers educated and entertained this year was a superb lineup of keynote speakers including Cassie Campbell, Captain of Canada's National Women's Hockey Team; Mike Ferry, the foremost expert on real estate sales techniques; Justin McCarthy, a member of Google Inc.'s Strategic Partner Development team who specializes in real estate; Ed Hatch, senior instructor for the Council of Residential Specialists; Jeremy Conaway, a recognized expert in the fields of brokerage and association design; and Roald Marth, one of North America's leading technology visionaries.

These high-caliber speakers inspired and motivated every attendee, from increasing productivity and placing importance on personal time, to techniques on using new and existing web technology.

New this year was the elegant Awards Dinner Gala event on Saturday night. Flanked by two ice sculptures of TD Canada Trust, Platinum Sponsor, award recipients crossed the stage for formal recognition and handshakes from Don Lawby, COO, and Gary Charlwood, CEO. The Ron Paley Big Band, a Winnipeg favourite, took the evening from dinner to dancing and brought the gala to an explosively fun end.
