Bojangles' and its Customers Raise More Than $94,600 for Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program
December 13, 2012 // Franchising.com // Charlotte, N.C. - This holiday season, thousands of children in the local community will have smiles on their faces when they receive new toys, thanks to dollars collected through Bojangles’ 5th annual fundraiser for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. More than 80 Bojangles’ restaurants in central North Carolina and north central South Carolina participated in this year’s fundraiser to help give children in their area a better, brighter Christmas.
During a 16-day promotion, Bojangles’ customers had the opportunity to donate $1 or $5 to Toys for Tots. Every dollar raised supports the organization’s goal to give less fortunate children in the community an opportunity to experience the joy of Christmas by providing new toys as gifts and offering them a message of hope.
“Bojangles’ takes great pride in its history of giving back to the communities in which we serve,” said Bojangles’ Senior Vice President of Marketing Randy Poindexter. “We look forward to our partnership with Toys for Tots year after year and are constantly amazed at the generosity of our incredible customers who are so charitable when we host fundraisers like this.”
Restaurants that participated in this year’s fundraiser included locations in South Carolina’s Lancaster and York counties as well as North Carolina’s Alexander, Anson, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Richmond, Rowan, Stanley, Union and Watauga counties.
During the campaign six restaurants raised over $2,000 each and 39 restaurants raised between $1,000 and $2,000 each. The Bojangles’ in Conover, N.C. raised the most money with over $3,300 donated at their location. During the five year partnership with the Marine Corp Reserve Toys for Tots program, Bojangles’ and their customers have raised over $321,600.
