Express Employment: New Year Brings New Job Opportunity
Hiring Trend in Canada Continues to be Positive
TORONTO, ONTARIO - (Marketwired - Jan. 9, 2015) - Bob Funk, the CEO of the second largest privately held staffing company in North America, today issued the following statement in response to the latest Statistic Canada Labour Force Survey which showed the Canadian economy held steady and continued its positive trend in December with an unemployment rate of 6.6 per cent. The labour force participation rate remained at 65.9 per cent.
"The new year is bringing in new opportunities, and now continues to be a good time to go out and look for a new job. While we see the month-to-month job numbers tend to fluctuate, the overall trend in Canada continues to be positive," Funk said. "The one cautionary signal is the stubborn labour force participation rate, which means we still aren't doing a good enough job getting people back into the workforce."
