SYNERGY HomeCare Opens in Indianapolis
May 02, 2025 // Franchising.com // Tempe, Ariz. – SYNERGY® HomeCare has announced its first location in Indiana’s largest market, SYNERGY HomeCare of Northern Indianapolis.
The company is owned and operated by Trent Terry, a Master’s graduate in Business Administration who has since put his degree to use in multiple successful entrepreneurial ventures, ranging from the restaurant industry to pediatric therapy. Following his own experience watching his grandparents navigate the aging process, Terry is now making the leap into home care.
Terry and his team of compassionate caregivers will assist residents of the Circle City with a wide variety of non-medical, in-home care services, from companion care to personal care and respite care.
Terry noticed the growing need for these services in the area, particularly among Baby Boomers. U.S. Census statistics show that 10,000 Baby Boomers are turning 65 every day and that by 2030, there will be more than 70 million people over 65. According to the AARP, over 80% of this demographic reports wanting to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
After graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree, and then later from Indiana Wesleyan University with an MBA, Terry started his first entrepreneurial venture in 2010 in the restaurant business. His restaurant quickly grew to four locations thanks to his customer-first approach and taught him the ropes of business ownership. Seven years later, he founded his own independent pediatric therapy business which has since grown to a team of almost 100 therapists serving most of Indiana.
Terry’s time in pediatric therapy has been extremely rewarding, particularly when he’s able to make a difference in the lives of the children he serves. However, his attention shifted towards home care once his grandparents’ care needs became more complicated. As he watched his parents struggle to balance their own professional and social lives with the care responsibilities of his grandparents, he realized that he had the business acumen to address this challenge himself.
“My time in pediatric therapy helped me realize that providing support and encouragement to those in need is where I find the most pride,” said Terry. “I’ve been fortunate enough to touch the lives of many Indianapolis children, but my experience with my grandparents opened my eyes to the fact that the city’s older residents need much of that same support. I’m confident that my person-centric business approach will translate to the home care industry, and I’m excited to make a difference for even more people.”
Indianapolis is the most populated city in the Hoosier State. The area is home to a sizeable older population that often needs to rely on caregivers for additional assistance cooking, shopping, running errands, doing light housekeeping or going for walks. Some even require personal care, such as help with bathing, dressing or using the toilet.
“I opened SYNERGY HomeCare of Northern Indianapolis with the goal of providing person-first, straightforward, reliable care,” said Terry. “Every caregiver and member of our office staff is trained to listen first in order to ensure the client gets exactly what they need without unnecessary hassle or expense.”
